What's the difference?

Remodeling, Renovating, or Restoring

Remodel -

Changes made to an existing structure or to change the character of a house or a portion of a house. You can convert a room or an entire building. Once you've started gutting, adding, or removing wall or raising ceilings, you've remodeling. A remodel is the most expensive route to take and requires the most material resources.

Renovate -

Cosmetic changes, the act of renewing, to make new again and no structure work is involved. Basically speaking, it is fixing what’s already there. An out-of-date kitchen updated with new fixtures and counter tops, or replacing old windows with new ones are examples of renovations. Renovations are always cheaper and less time-consuming than remodeling. So, It’s , it’s cheaper, takes less time and it's cheaper.

Restoring -

Returning a structure to its former condition such as a historic building, Repairing cracks in the walls, removing old fixtures and replacing them with replicas of the originals are examples of restoration. Restoration requires less resources and less time to complete. Therefore this method is also cost effective.
